SYC Challenger League Baseball Registration Is Now Open

Baseball is a FREEDOM, not a Challenge!

By Challenger League of Southern York County February 12, 2025

The Challenger League of SoYoCo is a baseball program designed for children 4-18 years old  with Special Needs who live with physical or mental challenges. This is a league designed for those children to participate in a sports environment structured for their success.

Players work on skill-building which provides an essential opportunity for kids to develop stronger emotional and social skills. Players also have an opportunity to meet other kids just like them. Challenger baseball provides a safe environment for kids to "get off the bench and play", instilling self-esteem and allowing kids to gain self-confidence. We implement a "buddy" system, the SYC Little League teams will provide players from their teams to assist challenger players in the field when necessary.

Challenger baseball stresses participation, not competition. Every player gets to bat, field, and run the bases. There are no outs and balls and strikes are not counted. Victories are won with achievement and involvement in the greatest game ever played.

Registration is $30 per participant. Practice/Games on Sunday from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the Windy Hill Baseball Complex at John OKeefe Park  1118 Windy Hill Rd, New Freedom, PA 17349

Reigstration closed March 21.
