The Ma & Pa Railroad Heritage Village at Muddy Creek Forks invites you to experience their World War II encampment weekend Saturday, August 26th from 11 a.m to 5 p.m. or Sunday, August 27th from 1 p.m to 5 p.m.
WWII re-enactors in authentic uniforms representing both the Allied and Axis countries will be represented. The grounds will be filled with period tents, equipment, supplies, armaments, and vehicles. The re-enactors will provide accurate interpretations of the various armies and interact with visitors.
Railroads played a key role in the mobilization for war, and even though the Ma & Pa didn't serve a lot of war industries, it saw a big impact from the war. Due to gasoline rationing, passenger traffic more than quadrupled from 321,899 passenger miles in 1940 to 1,316,020 passenger miles in 1943.
A.M. Grove Store and Roller Mill will be open to all.
Forty-five minute motorcar train rides and tours of the village will also be offered during the encampment.
Train Tickets are $10.00 adult, $7.00 child, under 3 free.
Capacity is limited and advance ticket purchase online is recommended. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your train ride.
Ma & Pa Railroad Heritage Village is located at 1258 Muddy Creek Forks Rd, Airville, PA 17302.
