Celebrate reptiles and amphibians with this themed week of activities. July 5-July 11 explore self-guided displays while completing an activity booklet, meet live reptiles up close, and participate in themed nature walks and lectures.

Aquatic Amphibian Search (Monday, Tuesday Thursday & Friday 10:00 am)
During the Aquatic Amphibian Search small groups will venture into the stream and scoop from the pond in search of frogs, salamanders, and their babies. Participants will also search for amphibian food! Park visitors may not disturb the stream or pond outside of a naturalist-led program except for the nature play area. The Aquatic Amphibian Search is appropriate for ages 6 and up with an adult helper.
Reptile and Amphibian Walk (Monday, Tuesday & Friday 1:00 pm Sunday 10:00 am)
Small groups will join a park naturalist for a guided nature walk with a focus on reptiles, amphibians, and their habitats.
Herping Tips with Kyle (Thursday 1:00 pm)
Visit with PA Reptile and Amphibian Survey regional coordinator, Kyle Loucks, as he shows his favorite photos, shares stories of his herping adventures, and explains tips for submitting the best data.
Nature Walk with a Citizen Scientist (Thursday 2:30 pm)
Join PA Reptile and Amphibian Survey regional coordinator, Kyle Loucks, for a walk through the woods and past the creek in search of reptiles and amphibians. Observe and learn how to find the most species, while leaving no trace, and collecting the best data (sound recordings, photos of important features, etc.). Kyle will share the tools and tricks he uses to be the most successful on each and every adventure.
All About Turtles (Sunday 2:30 pm)
Turtle expert Katrina Smith from Mid-Atlantic Turtle and Tortoise society will share an in-depth presentation on local species, common pets, and all the frequently asked questions on turtles!
Cost: $2 per person, ages 4 and under free. Park members free.
No registration required for general admission.
