York Parks Guide

Warm weather means it's time to get outside and play! There are so many great Playgrounds and Parks in SoYoCo why not mix things up explore them all!? Below is a few of our favorite SoYoCo Parks we hope you get a chance to get out and explore them!   While your out exploring be sure to snap a picture or two and share them on our Facebook page


Barshinger Complex 95 Accomac Road, York - This 27.92 acre facility in Hellam Township can be viewed from Route 30 East. With 5soccer fields, it is home to the Eastern York Soccer Club. It also serves as a community park with a 0.3 mile walking trail, small playground,covered pavilion and picnic shelter which are first come first serve.


Codorus Township Park Located just outside of Glen Rock and Jefferson this beautiful park offers paved walking trails, sports fields, playground, and an 18 hole disc golf 12260 Rockville Rd, Glen Rock, PA 17327


Dallastown Community Park is Located behind the Fire House off of S. School Place


Emig Park  2 Buttonwood Lane, York - The Clayton Eli Emig Parklocated in Hallam Borough is 20.5 acres and includes two pavilions,several play areas, a paved basketball court, and public restrooms.Hiking on the trail leads you past a small creek and wildlife viewingopportunities. Pavilion rentals are available by contacting HallamBorough at 717-755-0810.


Fairmount Park 108 Boundary Ave Red Lion, PA Fairmount Park is an 11 acre tract of land with walking paths, a playground, Splash pad volleyball and basketball courts and a picnic pavilion

Glen Rock Coming from Shrewsbury, take 851 West until you come to a Y-intersection where Captain Bob's Restaurant is. Bear right onto 616 N (Pleasant Valley Rd). Follow into town of Glen Rock. At the stop sign, bear left onto Baltimore St. Go straight at traffic light. Follow up the hill. Turn left onto Fair School Rd and the parking lot is on the immediate right.

Hametown Park Located on the Susquehanna Trail, just north of Shrewsbury, just before the Markets at Shrewsbury.

Jacobus Park Located on the Susquehanna Trail in Jacobus. From Shrewsbury, take Susquehanna Trail North. You will go through Loganville and the next town is Jacobus. The park is located on the left side of the road behind the Jacobus Fire House. Parking is on the right side of the road. The playground to the left belongs to the Montessori school. About 8 miles from Shrewsbury.

New Freedom Located in New Freedom. From Shrewsbury Take Constitution Ave towards New Freedom. At the intersection of Constitution and Main St in New Freedom, continue straight after the stop sign. Make right at next stop sign. Parking is on the right just before the railroad tracks.

Railroad Park 38 South Main St Railroad offers a playground access to the Rail Trail and you may even get to see the NCR Train go by



Rexroth Park 1895 Prayer Mission Road, Windsor - Rexroth Park isa 31 acre park located in Lower Windsor Township. Along with softballdiamonds, a multi-use sport field, a basketball court and sand volleyball court, the park offers three walking/running marked paths. There is alsoa play area, gaga pit, and restroom facilities. Parking lots are available off Prayer Mission Road and Craley Road, adjacent to the lower level ofthe Township building. Lower Windsor Twp has two pavilions available for rent. The large pavilion accommodates up to 120 people and the smaller pavilion can seat approximately 60. Both are located near the playground and offer charcoal grills and electricity. Contact LWT at 717-244-6813 to reserve. A picnic shelter is available on a first come first serve basis. Rexroth Park is home to Eastern York Rec Softball and Eastern York Young Knights Football. It is open daily, dawn to dusk.


Shrewsbury Park From Shrewsbury Take 851 West to the intersection of Main St & Forrest Ave. Go straight through the stop light for .1 mile. Take your first right, turn immediately before the Shrewsbury Fire Co. Go .2 mile to the first stop sign and turn left into the park.

Springfield Township Park Located on the Susquehanna Trail just before Brown's Orchard 9211 Susquehanna Trail S, Seven Valleys, PA 17360


Farmers Field (Paradise Twp) - 3074 Church Rd, Thomasville This park offers an outdoor pavilion that holds up to 100 people. The athletic fields can accommodate baseball, softball and soccer teams. Playground, walking paths and portable restroom facility on site.


Spring Grove Community Park  - 210 E Railroad St, Spring Grove: This park offers an outdoor pavilion that holds up to 60 people. The athletic fields accommodate baseball, softball and soccer teams. Playground, walking paths, basketball courts, volleyball court,dog park and restroom facility on site.


Stone Ledge Park (Jackson Twp) - Off Route 116 in Jackson Heights Development: This park offers an outdoor pavilion that holds up to 40 people. Playground, walking paths, game tables, basketball court, and free play area.Portable restroom onsite.


Little Creek Park (Jackson Twp) - 1657 Route 116, SpringGrove: This park offers an outdoor pavilion that holds up to100 people. Playground, walking paths, basketball and pickleball courts. Little Creek Golf Course: 9-18 holes golf course on the backside of this park and is open from April -October.


Stewartstown Park From Shrewsbury Take 851 East towards Stewartstown. Make a right onto Main St (in Stewartstown). Make a left back onto 851 East. Park is on the right, located behind the church.

Windsor Wonderland Located at 1600 Windsor Road Red Lion, PA 17356 Take PA-24S/MT ZION ROAD exit. Follow PA-24S (MT ZION ROAD becomes EDGEWOOD ROAD becomes CAPE HORN ROAD) From PA-24/PA 124 Intersection (Longstown) continue to travel PA-24S for approximately 0.7 miles. Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto WINDSOR ROAD – go approximately 3 miles to 4-way stop sign. Park is across the street to your RIGHT

Windy Hill Park- Located on Windy Hill Rd New Freedom offers baseball fields and playland


Stump Memorial Park – 525 Days Mill Rd York, PA 17408: Approximately 24 acres, this park includes four multi-use fields, two parking areas, a walking trail, and a picnic pavilion.


Mill Creek Preserve – located along Chestnut Hill Rd and CampBetty Washington Rd: This 8.1 acres of natural woodlands include a complete walking trail that crosses over the Creek


Snyder Park – located where Beaumont Road and Locust Roadmeet: This 8-acre park offers open space that can be used for baseball/softball/soccer/lacrosse, a basketball court, and a playground.


Fitz Park – 916 S. Sharon Ave Red Lion, PA 17356: This 6.9-acre park offers pickleball courts, a basketball court, a playground area, a multi-purposefield, and a picnic pavilion


Shryock Park – 2462 South Queen Street York, PA 17402: This 6-acre park is known for its baseball diamond, and a basketball court.


Tyler Run Park – Bayberry Lane York, PA 17403: At a little over 3-acres, this park offers open space that can be used forbaseball/softball/soccer/lacrosse, a basketball court, a playground and a pavilion.


Heritage Hills Park – 814 Heritage Hills Dr York, PA 17402: Just under 3-acres, this park offers open space that can be used for baseball/softball/soccer/lacrosse, a basketball court, a playground, and a picnic pavilion.

York Township Park - 25 Oak Street York, PA 17402: Just over 67 acres. home to Kids Kingdom playground, along with the 2 picnic pavilions, a gazebo, and a community building that can be rented. This park also has 4 multipurpose fields, 3 baseball/softballfields, 2 basketball courts, 2 sand volleyball courts, 2 bocce courts, 2 horseshoe pits, and 2 smaller playgrounds. All of this is surrounded by a 1.2-mile walking trail.




York Area Parks 

Bennett Williams Park – 1101 Taxville Road: This park was namedafter Bennett Williams Real Estate, they donated the land to West Manchester Township to create a park. This park has a sand volleyball court and a half court basketball court. The playground is geared towards the under five children and is our newest addition to this park. There is also a walking path, perfectly suited so you can keep an eye on your children while you are getting some exercise as well.

Dunedin Park – 224 Hanover Road: This park is the home location for  the West York Soccer Club teams. There is a nice sand volleyball court and two full-size basketball courts at this park. Some of the nicest things about this park are the close to a half-mile walking path,the playground and the very large pavilion. 


Loman Park – 1881 Hempfield Drive: This park offers two different playground areas; one is geared towards the under-five children and the other is for 5-12-year-old children. There is also a half court basketball court, a Gaga pit and a sand volleyball court.


Westgate Park/Happy Trails – 1600 Westgate Drive: If you like nature and enjoy the “outdoorsy” feel, this is the park-walking trail for you! This park has a very nice walking trail going all through the wooded area. There are picnic tables and benches placed throughout the area for you to sit, relax and take in the nature around you.


Shetter Park – 2175 Parkton Lane: This park has playground structures and a new pavilion, which includes a high tower, good for climbing to the top and overlooking the whole park. There is also a newly resurfaced tennis court and pickleball court to enjoy. This park also includes a half basketball court with a hoop for our younger children to practice their basketball skills and a tetherball court.


Sunset Lane Park – 2458 Sunset Lane: Offers a very nice walking trail the whole way around the park. There are two sand volleyball courts and two full size basketball courts located at this park as well as a Gaga pit and nice playground area This park also has a pavilion, available to rent.


Brookside Park - 4054 Fox Run Rd: This park was created in 1901 as a “trolley park”. The park sits in a grove of mature trees with the Fox Run stream running though. Guests can enjoy basketball, sand volleyball, and a short walk will lead to a baseball field. There is also a playground at the park.


Dover Community Park - 2481 West Canal Rd 


Lehr Park - 3700 Davidsburg Rd: This park offers baseball and soccer fields and a popular 1/2 mile walking trail. There is a playground to the rear of the Community Building.


Edgewood Park - 5001 Nittany Dr: This park is in the Salem Run Development. There is a playground and two small baseball fields.


Mayfield Park - Sedgewick Ave: This park is bordered by the little Conewago Creek. There is a lighted football field and a playground


Ketterman Park - Edgeway Rd: This park is located in the borough of Dover with a 1/2 mile walking track. There are two baseball fields and a basketball court. There are also two small playgrounds.


Springettsbury Park-  This 51-acre park is a destination for residents with diverse recreation facilities and gathering areas. Active Recreation Facilities: Three sand volleyball courts, three basketball courts, six tennis courts, one adult baseball/multi-purpose field, two youth baseball fields one with an overlapping football field, one softball field, an in-line hockey rink, two picnic shelters, and a playground. Passive Recreation Facilities: Two picnic pavilions, loop trails, open lawn areas and an Amphitheatre. Support Facilities: Picnic grills, water fountains, restrooms, two parking areas, concession stands and seating areas.


Camp Security Park- An 11-acre neighborhood park offers active recreation facilities in a natural setting along a wooded creek corridor. Active Recreation Facilities:Two multi-purpose athletic fields and playground equipment. Passive Recreation Facilities: Stream access, earthen woodland trails, and picnic pavilion.


Rockburn Park - This small one-acre mini park with active recreation facilities . ActiveRecreation Facilities: One basketball court and playground equipment.Passive Recreation Facilities: Picnic pavilion, open lawn area, and painted pavement games area. Pavilion grill, bicycle rack, portable toilet, fence along the Industrial Highway, and one off-street,handicap-accessible parking space.
